Michael Smith is president and CEO of Greater Valdosta United Way. Prior to serving the organization, he worked in his family business operating Smitty’s Package Stores in Valdosta and Lake Park. Working in retail provided him with many experiences to work and interact with people from all walks of life. At Greater Valdosta United Way, Smith leads the organization’s efforts to serve five counties, along with 19 agency partners, to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community. A native of Valdosta, Smith earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Valdosta State University.
