Regional Coalition: Resilient North Georgia

Mission & Broad Goals
​

Resilient North Georgia seeks to increase community understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and advocate for prevention and mitigation within North Georgia. The coalition works to restore children and families from trauma using evidence-based practices and programs to bolster efforts to keep children out of the foster system and prevent trauma. Resilient North Georgia focuses on enhancing parental support and positive youth development and extends trainings to various sectors such as foster parents, first responders, teachers, and direct service organizations.

Resilient North Georgia aims to:​

  • Target residential programming within Foster Care, Independent Living (ILP), Transitional Living (TLP), and Family Housing

  • Provide skill training, coaching, and therapeutic care with Healthy Families America (HFA), Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

  • Assess ACEs and community health on the county- level

  • Reach teens through a justice-based model that recognizes structural racism, utilizing prevention science

  • Increase access to community supports like mental and behavioral health care in rural counties in North Georgia

Banks, Dawson, Franklin, Forsyth, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, White
