Reaching Teens: September Lunch and Learn

Our September Lunch and Learn will feature Reaching Teens, which provides youth-serving professionals with strategies to effectively engage teenagers using a strength-based perspective. Integrating principles from Positive Youth Development, Strength-Based Language, Restorative Practices, and Trauma-Sensitive Practices, the training aims to shift how we view and support young people.

With over 200 content contributors and an endorsement by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Reaching Teens when effectively implemented shapes the culture of an organization to be a place where youth are heard, feel safe and also challenged to be their best self.  Reaching Teens is unique in that it offers practical strategies to build trust, improve communication, and manage behavior.

In this session, Wellroot Family Services will share more about Reaching Teens as a resource and how to access this resource as individual staff or implement the principles as an organization.  They will also share a few examples of strategies for strength-based communication, active listening, and building trust with adolescents.
