Regional Coalition: Resilient & United Communities of South Georgia
Mission & Broad Goals
Resilient & United Communities of South Georgia serves populations that experience poverty, have limited access to transportation resources, and may have a lack of knowledge about available services. These rural South Georgian communities have seen increased concerns of adverse mental health, suicide, human trafficking, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
Therefore, RUCSG’s mission is to create positive change by bringing resources together to improve people’s lives in local communities through:
-
Continuing to develop mental health awareness through training and education
-
Focusing on suicide prevention in youth up to age 26
-
Evaluating training outcomes to assess the impact on trauma-informed awareness and education
-
Promoting resiliency in South Georgia through a unified trauma-informed response
