Regional Coalition: Resilient Heart of Georgia
Mission & Broad Goals

The mission of Resilient Heart of Georgia is to strengthen community resilience and improve behavioral health outcomes for children, youth, young adults, and families (birth–26) across the coalition’s thirteen rural counties by advancing trauma-informed practices, building a shared understanding of adversity and resilience, and fostering coordinated cross-sector collaboration.

Resilient Heart of Georgia aims to:

Establish a sustainable regional coalition infrastructure with shared leadership, clear roles, and consistent communication to guide trauma-informed efforts across the region.

Build community awareness and a shared language around trauma, adversity, resilience, and mental wellness through outreach, education, and community conversations.

Expand access to evidence-based trauma-informed training, while developing local trainers through a Train-the-Trainer model.

Strengthen youth voice and leadership to inform community awareness and systems change.

Increase equitable access to prevention-focused supports in rural and under-resourced communities through school-based and community engagement strategies.
