Regional Coalition: Resilient Southwest Georgia (Albany)
Mission & Broad Goals
Resilient Southwest Georgia (Albany), comprised of United Way of Southwest Georgia and 30+ coalition partners, is working to raise awareness of the effects of trauma/Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), increase collaboration across sectors, bring a trauma-informed approach, and build resilience in the community. The coalition’s aim is to prevent ACEs and their intergenerational transfer to improve the well-being of Southwest Georgia.
The coalition is working to strengthen systems that result in long-lasting changes in the following ways:

Promoting coordinated trauma-informed practices across systems and providing services for raising healthy children in safe, stable, nurturing environments

Building awareness and a common language around adversity and resilience

Creating a sustainable model for the organization and the trauma-informed movement
