Farmers and agricultural workers have a strenuous and stressful occupation, which has an effect on their physical and mental health. There are a variety of factors which increase farmers’ risk for developing mental health issues or illnesses. The occupation experiences challenges with weather and financial hardships or worrying, which impacts the mental health of farmers. Many farmers also face barriers with access to healthcare since many farmers live in rural areas and often have decreased access.
