Regional Coalition: Resilient South-Central
Mission & Broad Goals

Resilient South-Central is working to strengthen resilience and improve behavioral health outcomes for children, youth, young adults, and families through Family Connection collaboratives, regional health partners, schools, and community organizations. The coalition seeks to build a trauma-informed regional network that increases awareness of adversity, reduces stigma around mental health, and expands access to prevention and early-intervention supports in rural communities.

The coalition’s work emphasizes early identification of mental health challenges, community education, and cross-county coordination to ensure children and families have the relationships, resources, and knowledge needed to heal and thrive. They do this by:

-
Building a trauma-informed regional coalition by strengthening leadership, coordination, and shared language across partners and counties.
-
Increasing access to evidence-based training and prevention strategies, including trauma-informed practices and resilience-building programs for professionals, caregivers, and youth.
-
Raising community awareness about trauma, poverty, and mental health through outreach campaigns, community conversations, and public education efforts.
-
Strengthening youth leadership and resilience by establishing youth advisory councils and providing opportunities for students to develop coping skills and peer support networks.
-
Expanding prevention and behavioral health supports in rural communities by connecting partners, aligning resources, and identifying local needs through data and community engagement.
